My Process

Every project starts out as an idea. It can then be jotted down on a simple napkin or on sketch paper, digitized, and finalized. Every designer has their own process and I’m no different. I like to follow these steps listed below when designing a project:

  • This includes everything from inspiration, competition, demographics, mental madness (brainstorming), moodboards, sizing, and typography and color selection.

  • This is what I call brainstorming. I jot down quick ideas associated with words, imagery, colors, type, emotions, animals, demographics etc.

  • I like to create simple sketches of element placement as well as various iterations of a particular project.

  • After I finish several thumbnails I pick my top three and either do detailed thumbnails and/or begin digitizing.

  • Close to the final, this is where I will make any alterations. Polishing the roughs.

  • Final deliverable(s).
